Wormald prepares for Fire Australia 2024
Our team is gearing up for the annual Fire Australia Conference from May 7 to 9, bringing together leading presenters from Australia and overseas.
Wormald’s Antonio Serianni and John Lynch will be presenting on Technology in Asset Management Strategy and an update of the proposed new edition of the Australian Standard (AS) 1851 in routine servicing – just two of many inspiring talks that highlight innovative solutions to the industry’s challenges.
The Conference will also crown this year’s winner of the coveted Barry Lee Award, sponsored by Wormald, alongside a host of other awards – two of which we are nominated for.
The Conference
Industry leaders and savvy businesses will converge on the Gold Coast for a two-day conference offering the most up-to-date and informative content in the fire protection industry, showcasing an impressive array of new services and technology.
The program covers everything from the political to the practical, giving delegates a chance to both learn, and earn, with CPD points available during the event.
Offsite tours complement the on-site Tradeshow Hall, showcasing some of the best fire protection solutions the industry has to offer.
The event will be capped-off with the Fire Protection Industry Awards Gala at the Star Casino for an evening of entertainment, unexpected surprises, awards and a chance to network with industry colleagues.
Wormald Presentations – May 9
Wormald NSW Business Development Manager, Antonio Serianni will present technology’s increasing role in asset management strategy, as building owners attempt to gain more oversight into building compliance, deliver better outcomes and lower costs.
As clients invest more in the technology space to gain efficiency, they expect the same from their providers. The fire industry has seen many emerging technologies, including internet of things, artificial intelligence, smart barcoding, geotagging, client web portals, work order management systems and mobile applications.
Antonio will give their expert insights on how technology can be effectively used to provide a better asset management strategy for building owners, how to adapt to drive further value in the digital age, and how embracing innovation can improve the customer journey.
General Manager Business Services, John Lynch will present on the Australian Standard (AS) 1851, covering the routine service of fire protection systems and equipment.
During this session, under the Inspect and Test Stream, John will cover everything from updates to the new AS1851 project proposal, how the process to a new edition will transpire, and feedback from FPA Australia members and other stakeholders by each section of the AS1851.
Sponsorship of Barry Lee Technical Award
A highlight of the Conference for the Wormald team is presenting the coveted Barry Lee Technical Award, recognising professional excellence and outstanding technical contribution to the Australian Fire Protection industry.
The award’s rich history honours Barry Lee OAM, who served as Wormald’s Technical Director for more than a decade. In his time at Wormald, Barry accumulated a long list of achievements in the industry, including his role as a founding member of Fire Protection Australia, and a 70+ year legacy of advocacy and innovation.
Wormald Award Nominations
We are proud to be nominated for two awards this year.
Engineering Manager at Wormald Technology, Warwick Britton, is a finalist for the Barry Lee Technical Award where judges shortlist candidates based on their merits, achievements and ability to demonstrate the ways in which technical expertise has been used to overcome challenges, collaborate with others and drive positive organisational change.
Wormald is also nominated for the Project Of The Year Award for our high-tech cold storage facility in Metro Perth.
Wormald has been a proud sponsor of the Barry Lee Technical Award since its inception. It is the highlight of our conference calendar and we are extremely excited to both attend and play important roles in this year’s event.
