Wet chemical fire extinguishers are specifically designed for cooking oil, fat and grease fires commonly found in commercial kitchens, restaurants, cafes and food preparation areas. These extinguishers suppress flames by creating a cooling, soapy layer over burning oils, helping prevent re-ignition. Wormald supplies wet chemical fire extinguishers that comply with Australian Standards and can assist with selection, installation, servicing and ongoing maintenance.
They employ an agent that reacts with burning cooking oil or fat to form a suds-like blanket across the fuel surface, cutting off the fire’s air supply and preventing the release of flammable vapours.
Wormald offers Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishers in two sizes. The 7 litre is ideal for large cooking and food processing applications, and the 2 litre is ideal for restaurant kitchens.
