Fire Warden Training (ECO)

What is fire warden training?

A fire warden is any employee who is a member of the emergency control organisation (ECO) who has undertaken a warden fire training course. This means that if you are a fire warden in your organisation, this course will provide you with sufficient training to respond safely and quickly to workplace emergencies.

What is involved in fire warden training?

The competency-based training session for Wardens consists of both theoretical and practical training. Topics include:

  • Types of emergencies likely to occur in your building
  • Structure of ECO
  • Familiarisation tour of typical floor or site
  • Types of fire protection equipment
  • Fire Extinguisher demonstration (no live fires used)
  • Emergency Procedures – duties of ECO
  • How long does fire warden training take?
