About the Role
As a Passive Fire Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate a team of passive fire installers, testers, and carpenters across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Leveraging your trade background in carpentry and / or QBCC Passive Licencing, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, repair, inspection, and testing of passive fire systems, including fire and smoke doors, passive fire-stopping elements, roller doors/shutters, and emergency exit doors, ensuring full compliance with all relevant standards and building regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and mentoring a multi-skilled field workforce delivering service repairs, new installations, and inspection and testing activities to achieve agreed KPIs, productivity targets, and budget requirements.
- Planning and coordinating works to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery across multiple sites.
- Identifying compliant passive fire solutions in line with approved designs and site conditions.
- Preparing timely, accurate, and detailed quotes for passive fire including fire and smoke door installations and associated rectification works.
- Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with the NCC, QDC MP6.1, AS 1851, AS 1530, and AS 4072, as well as company procedures and client requirements.
- Maintaining strong customer relationships and providing clear technical guidance to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Promoting a strong safety culture, quality workmanship, and attention to detail across all activities.
This role requires a practical, hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, the ability to work autonomously, and a commitment to compliance, quality, and continuous improvement in passive fire safety outcomes.
About You
Key qualities we are looking for include but are not limited to:
- Carpentry trade certificate and QBCC licence.
- QBCC Passive Fire Certifier (not mandatory but highly regarded).
- Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Reliable, punctual with a good work ethic.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook and Excel.
- Have an attention to detail and sense of pride in your work.
- High level of customer service.
- A current Driver’s Licence.
