About the Role
As a Passive Fire Technician you will play a pivotal part in supporting our Sydney Building Services Team. Your role will involve the installation, maintenance, repair, inspection, and testing of passive fire systems, including fire seal penetrations, fire and smoke dampers, roller doors/shutters, structural steel support columns/beams, lightweight construction, and some fire and smoke doors, ensuring full compliance with all relevant standards and building regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering service repairs, installations, inspection and testing activities on building fire safety features.
- Preparing timely, accurate, and detailed quotes for passive fire installations and associated rectification works.
- Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, Company procedures and client requirements.
- Maintaining strong customer relationships and providing clear communication to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Promoting a strong safety culture, quality workmanship, and attention to detail across all activities.
This role requires a practical, hands-on role, with an ability to work autonomously, and a commitment to compliance, quality, and continuous improvement in passive fire safety outcomes. Training will be provided.
About You
Key qualities we are looking for include but are not limited to:
- Experience in passive fire protection systems installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and codes.
- Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Reliable, punctual with a good work ethic.
- Previous supervisory or leading hand experience.
- Use of smart device technology.
- Have an attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills and sense of pride in your work.
- High level of customer service.
- A current Driver’s Licence.
- Must be approved to work in Australia and hold a current white card for works in NSW.
- Fire damper experience an advantage but not essential.
