Role Overview:

As a Fire Doors Technician / Carpenter, you will use your expertise in carpentry to install, maintain, and repair fire doors, passive fire stopping elements, roller doors/shutters and emergency exit doors ensuring they meet all safety standards and building regulations. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fire Door Installation:Install fire doors and associated components in accordance with current fire safety regulations and standards.
  • Maintenance & Repairs:Carry out servicing and repair works on fire doors, ensuring they function effectively and meet safety codes.
  • Regulatory Compliance:Ensure all work is compliant with fire safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Inspection & Testing:Conduct inspections and testing of fire doors, identifying any faults or areas for improvement.
  • Client Liaison:Communicate directly with clients to understand their requirements, offer advice, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Quality Assurance:Maintain high standards of workmanship while adhering to safety protocols and company guidelines.
  • Documentation:Accurately complete reports, certifications, and records for all completed work.

 

About You:

Haven’t worked in “Fire” before? No worries… We provide training and upskilling for the right person. 

Key qualities we are looking for include but are not limited to:

  • Carpentry trade certificate and QBCC licence.
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Reliable, punctual with a good work ethic. 
  • Able to work independently and within a small team environment.
  • Are energetic, physically fit due to some occasional heavy lifting (9-16kg). 
  • Have general computer skills.
  • Have an attention to detail and sense of pride in your work.
  • High level of customer service.
  • A current Driver’s Licence.
