A 30-Year commitment to safety: Wormald and La Trobe extend enduring partnership
Wormald has officially extended its long-standing partnership with La Trobe University for a further five years, marking the potential for a 30-year collaboration dedicated to campus safety.
Originally commencing in the 1990s, the relationship has evolved from early fire alarm upgrades to a comprehensive Fire and Life Safety partnership across La Trobe’s Victorian campuses. The renewed agreement reflects both the strength of the relationship and the trust built over decades of consistent service delivery.

The new contract includes an expanded scope of work, incorporating additional high-level services and enhanced life safety elements. This includes continued focus on critical infrastructure such as tanks, pumps, sprinklers, suppression systems, and portable equipment and now includes management of the evacuation diagrams across all campuses.
Importantly, the agreement also includes Major Account Group (MAG) services, strengthening strategic oversight and service integration. As part of Wormald’s specialist education focus, a dedicated Key Account Manager, Hue Nhi Quach, has been appointed to support the university’s operational and compliance requirements.
Beyond infrastructure, the partnership also reflects a shared commitment to impact, with Wormald proudly supporting students through its Inclusive Scholarship program, created in partnership with La Trobe’s Make the Difference campaign, which helps underprivileged students stay engaged and successful in their studies.
Education environments present unique challenges, from complex building layouts and high occupant volumes to strict regulatory obligations. Wormald’s capability in this sector spans risk assessment, purpose-designed fire systems, streamlined maintenance programs, and emergency response training, ensuring minimal disruption to campus life while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and protection.
